Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to specify measures taken by Antares Systems Limited to ensure the health, safety and welfare of its employees, visitors and any third party present at Antares Systems Limited.

Scope

This policy scope covers the following:

  • Location:
    • Antares Corporate office & Branch offices
    • Service provider/third party agency premises
    • Customer premises
  • Employees of Antares Systems Limited
  • Third-party service providers working at Antares premises
  • Visitors

Policy

  • Antares Systems Limited is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all employees (including contractors and consultants) as well as customers, visitors and members of the public. Hazards and risks to health and safety will be eliminated or minimised, as far as is reasonably practicable.

  • The responsibility for managing health and safety ultimately rests with HR and administration function and management. Employees also have important responsibilities for health and safety in the workplace.

  • ASL is committed to complying with the Work Health and Safety related Regulations, codes of practice and other safety guidance material.

  • Management will:

    • Ensure the business complies with all legislation relating to health and safety

    • Eliminate or minimise all workplace hazards and risks as far as is reasonably practicable

    • Provide information, instruction and training to enable all employees to work safely

    • Consult with and involve employees on matters relating to health, safety and wellbeing

    • Provide appropriate safety equipment and personal protective equipment

    • Provide a suitable injury management and return to work program

  • Employees will:

    • Take reasonable care for their own health and safety

    • Follow safe work procedures, instructions and rules

    • Participate in safety training

    • Report health and safety hazards

    • Report all injuries and incidents

    • Use safety equipment and personal protective equipment as instructed

  • Antares Systems Limited is committed to:

    • Securing the health, safety and welfare of the employees

    • Securing the health and safety of third party service providers and visitors

    • Protecting persons other than persons at work by mitigating the risk against health and safety arising during the work performed or in connection with the work

    • Providing and maintaining safety, without risks to health, and providing an adequate working environment for employees with regard to facilities and arrangements

    • Meeting legal, regulatory and contractual requirements of employment

    • Providing instruction, training & supervision to employees at work

    • Prohibiting employment of children (below 18 Years)

  • Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy work environment that is free from workplace injury and illness. This will only be achieved through the participation, co-operation and commitment of everyone in the workplace.

Authority

This policy is approved by the Chief Executive Officer at Antares Systems Limited.

Applicability

This policy applies to all Antares Systems employees, visitors and third-party users working at Antares Systems premises.

Measures adopted to ensure Health, Safety & Security

  • Crisis & Disaster management is defined and periodic tests & reviews are conducted

  • Periodic medical-checkup for all Antares employees conducted by specialist doctors.

  • Insurance cover for all employees and their dependents

  • Proper management of e-waste

  • Employee state insurance is provided

  • Employee Accidental Insurance cover is extended to all employees

  • Training is imparted for readiness and countermeasures in case of the following:

    • Fire,

    • Natural calamities,

    • Social unrest,

      And for adoption of:

    • Acceptable usage of computer, and

    • Yoga to improve general health

  • Physical protection through manned security and CCTV Cameras

  • Two-level access via biometric access and swipe cards is provided only to employees, ensuring protection from intruders

  • First-aid boxes and lists of contact numbers of emergency services like ambulance, Fire and Police are put up at places accessible to everybody

  • Counseling as part of human resource management activities is provided for employees to cope with work pressure and mental stress

  • A Standing committee of employees is formed to act against women rights abuse, and regular meetings are called to apprise and regularize policies, take feedbacks and redress grievances

  • Other facilities provided to employees include:

    • Purified drinking water

    • Water supply

    • Clean toilets with separate facilities for Gents & Ladies

    • Refreshment facilities

    • Recreational activities including:

      • Annual sports meet for employees

      • Annual cultural activities for employees

      • Monthly recreation activities for employees

    • Clean environment with controlled temperature, humidity & adequate illumination

    • Protection from radiation, dust & fumes

    • Protection from noise & vibration

  • Smoking is prohibited at workplace

  • Carrying explosives and other inflammable materials is strictly prohibited

  • Conveyance is arranged by the organization for employees leaving office after 8:00 PM

  • Female employees leaving late from the office are escorted by security guards till their home.

  • Travel insurance is provided while travelling abroad.

  • Special leave is sanctioned for the employees infected with contagious diseases.

  • Special leave is granted during pregnancy and child care.

Notification of Changes

The Human Resource department provides users with a copy of this policy document (or a hyperlink to it), and notifies them about any change made to this policy.

Enforcement

Any employee found to have violated this policy may be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the prevailing HR policy.
